Pre-ceremony and registration information

After Semester Two results publication, all graduates will receive a Graduation Invitation via OC in OASIS. All graduates must register to attend their graduation ceremony by the published deadline via the Graduations Channel in OASIS. You will NOT receive a Graduation Invitation via post or to your personal email address. Please note that outside the registration period you will not be able to see the Graduations Channel in OASIS. Registration to attend a ceremony must be completed during the registration period. No registrations will be accepted after the registration closing date. If late registrations are able to be accepted a late registration fee is payable.

Your graduation ticket, guest tickets (including both the complimentary guest tickets and any that have been purchased) and regalia can be collected from the John Curtin Gallery, Building 200A, on Bentley Campus (Opposite the Curtin Bookshop - see map)on the day and time as specified in your Confirmation Official Communication (OC).

Each graduate receives two guest tickets in addition to their own graduate ticket. PhD graduates receive four guest tickets in addition to their own graduate ticket. If you would like to invite additional guests to attend your graduation ceremony then you may purchase online via OASIS during the ticket sales week only. Ticket sales are open for one week only and tickets are strictly limited. See dates and deadlines for more information.

To collect your tickets and regalia you must present photo identification including either your Curtin student ID card, drivers licence or Passport. The date/time and location of your ticket and regalia collection will be confirmed in your final Confirmation Official Communication (sent to your OASIS account). If you cannot collect your tickets and regalia and require someone to collect on your behalf please ensure they bring a Disclosure of Information Proxy Form and photo identification. Tickets and regalia will not be issued without authorisation from the student.

Curtin's official photographer, Phillips and Father, will have studio photography available whilst you are collecting your tickets and regalia. Demand for studio photography is high on each ceremony day, so therefore you may wish to have your professional photos taken with family and friends after you have collected your tickets and regalia.

Phillips and Father will have framing facilities available immediately after your ceremony. Frames can be pre-ordered and paid for prior to the ceremony to speed the process or you can have it framed straight after your ceremony.

Curtin memorabilia will also be available to purchase the day before and after your ceremony. Phillips and Father will have a large variety of memorabilia including bears with your own regalia and faculty colours, mugs, key rings and your ceremony DVD.

Ceremony Day information


Please ensure you and your guests arrive at the Curtin Forum at least one hour prior to the start of the ceremony.

The Curtin Forum graduation ceremony will commence at 7.00pm sharp.

The Graduations Office staff will invite all students and their guests to be seated at 6.15pm. Once all students are seated the graduate briefing will start at 6.30pm. The ceremony will start at 7.00pm sharp with the Academic Procession.

The ceremony is split into two parts; the presentation of the first half of graduates, then the occasional address and finishing with the presentation of the second half of graduating students. Students are brought up a row at a time to receive their award and then be presented to the Chancellor. A photo is taken of each graduate with the Chancellor as they are presented with their award certificate. Your stage photo can be ordered online after the ceremony. Studio photographic services are available before and after the ceremony at any Phillips and Father studio locations.

Graduates have reserved seating at the front of the stage and guests will be seated behind the graduates. Guest seating is not allocated seating therefore all guests are welcome to sit anywhere in the guest seating area. There is priority seating available, which is reserved for elderly and people who need wheelchair access. Guests must have their tickets on them at all times; entry to the venue is by ticket only.

The Bentley Curtin Forum graduation ceremony is usually approximately 1.5hrs in duration. Graduates and guests are encouraged not to leave until the end of the formal proceedings.

Light refreshments can be purchased prior to the ceremony, however are not for sale after the ceremony commences. After the ceremony closing address drinks and light snacks will be available.

If you have hired your regalia, it must be returned no later than 11.00pm. All hired regalia must be returned to Phillips and Father. Any late returns may result in being charged a late fee.
